Simon grew up playing golf at Seaton Carew Golf Club, he was Under 14 England boys champion and a scratch player by the age of 16. At age eighteen he was European and World boys champion and playing off a handicap of -3. He was recruited by the sixteen time national champions (the most of any American University) University of Houston to play for their golf team. Simon went on to represent England and Great Britain at junior and senior level partnering players such as Graeme McDowell, Justin Rose and Nick Dougherty. After four years in Houston and completing his degree in Sociology, Simon returned home to turn professional. Competing on the PGA Euro Pro Tour, in his first season Simon won three tournaments (the first player to do so) and graduated to the European Challenge Tour. Simon spent four years competing on the challenge tour winning one event in 2009 (SK Challenge in Finland) which meant he was a member of the European tour in 2009 and 2010. Simon has competed against and played with many of the worlds best players.

 

When Simon stopped playing full time he completed a PGCE in Primary Education which means Simon is a fully qualified primary school teacher. Simon is currently a senior PGA teaching professional at Close House Golf Club He also taught at Sharpley Springs Club  and Rockliffe Hall. 

 

Simon continues to compete on the pro am circuit and is available for many of the local pro ams. What better way is there to reward your best clients than rewarding them with a game of golf with a great pro? 

Simon has coached at the highest level including at the Open championship. He believes in a systematic approach to coaching. His coaching influences include Andy Plummer, Mike Bennett, Mac O'Grady, Homer Kelley, Stack and Tilt, The Golfing Machine.
